Top NBA Stories as we Tip-Off the '10-'11 Season

10. The NBA is tired of seeing playing complain about calls too much. With Rasheed retired we won't see that as much this season but the NBA still felt they needed to take some action. The officials turned the NBA Preseason into a Technical Giveaway. One game we saw Grant Hill and Reggie Evans get ejected for smacking each other in the butt too many times. See video.

Hopefully the officials we just making a point here and let the players play basketball. Emotions are involved and its entertaining to see it. Who wants to see people run up and down the court with a stone face? or No smiles after an amazing double clutch reverse by Kobe Bryant, that's why we Love this Game.

9. Will Melo finish the '10-'11 Season in Denver? Carmelo Anthony made it clear that he was unhappy and wanted out during the offseason. Without Melo, Denver will need another impact player so you must understand their cautiousness of just letting him go for just any players. Seeing him and Amare together in NYC will make things in the NBA go haywire.
8. Superman is still in Orlando. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year has put the Orlando Magic back in the Elite Teams in the NBA. The Magic have made 2 appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals and 1 in the Finals in the past 2 years. They lose Matt Barnes to the LA Lakers but pick up PG Chris Duhon and 3-point shooter Quentin Richardson. Whatever team big man Dwight Howard on is definitely a team to look out for.

7. The Return of the Ming Dynasty. This will be interesting to watch because although Yao is back in action he will be very limited. The Houston Rockets will only be playing him 24 minutes a game so he'll be spending half of the game watching it. Nevertheless, it's great to see the 7'6" fragile center back on the court and making his way into things.

6. John Wall this year's #1 draft pick and the front runner for the Rookie of the Year Award will be a player to watch. The Wizards are in rebuilding mode and they picked up the best player to help rebuild. Wall will be one of the elite point guards by the end of the season with his phenomal quickness and ability to score. As you saw in one of my earlier blog post John Wall's court vision and speed was check by Sports Science and can do the "impossible".

5. New York cleared up all their cap space expecting King James to take over the Garden. His route changed and went over to SoBe and the Knicks did not wait. They signed All-Star Forward Amare Stoudemire for $100 million to reunite him and Mike D'Antoni. Some say this is too much to pay him because of his recent knee surgery but I beg to differ. Stoudemire is going to bring a dominant presence that all of us New York fans have been waiting for. David Lee is a great player but Amare Stoudemire is better and is sure to flourish in this system. The question is his supporting cast.
4. The Durantula killed it this Summer for Team USA and was unstoppable! Last years playoff run was not a fluke. They took the Lakers all the way to Game 7 and made the Lakers earn every minute of it. Kevin Durantula will do his job putting up incredible numbers and probably leading the league in scoring again and PG Russell Westbrook is only going to get better, he has great athleticism and quickness. The Thunder will be making noise this season, a team to watch out for!
3. The Boston Celtics were overlooked in all the Lebron James talk. They became wiser and slower by picking up Future Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, veteran Center Jermaine O'Neal, and Delonte West (Cougar Hunter, Lebron's kryptonite). Their floor general Rajon Rondo is crafty and gets it done, all he needs to work on is getting a consistent jump shot. The Celtics have the cohesiveness and experience to take the Eastern Conference again and they are as tough as a team can get.

2. Kobe Bryant's chase for his 6th ring is nothing to be overlooked. Lakers made some moves in the offseason too for a great supporting cast. They picked up Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, and Theo Ratliff while keeping their core players Gasol, Bynum, Odom, Fisher, newly married Vujacic (Congrats to him and Maria Sharapova), the crazy Artest, and my man "Off the Ground" Shannon Brown. Rookie Devin Ebanks from West Virginia is looking good as well. From the looks of it Kobe's 6th ring is very likely!

1. One thing everyone is eager to see is how the "Big Three" of the Miami Heat will fair on the court. Lebron James is the enemy in the media and there has been nothing but bad things said about him. Tonight will be a great test against the Eastern Conference Champions (Boston Celtics). LBJ's "What Should I Do?" Nike Commercial was sarcastic answer to everyone's input on his decision, lets see if hes going to back it up tonight on the court because these three players together is a recipe for success!
